Miles Munro to swim for GB
Forming part of the GB squad, 18 year old Miles Munro, who is a former Beau Sejour Swim School and Barracudas has won team gold at the Youth Olympics in Nanjing in the 4 x100 freestyle. This follows freestyle relay gold at the recent European Junior Swimming championships.
Miles achieved his first medal in swimming in the Swim School's 2001 Fins and Flippers Gala where at just 5 years of age he placed 2nd in the 10m with a float race. He has put in a huge amount of hard work and many competitions have brought him to this amazing level and we all send our congratulations on these fantastic achievements.
Barracudas coach, Alison Frankland, who will be travelling with Miles and the rest of the team to the forthcoming Commonwealth Games said: "To be selected for the Youth Olympics and to have achieved a GB gold medal is a performance all those involved in his development can be proud of."
